Apple has issued invitations for its annual fall iPhone launch event, and the keynote could be headlined by the long-rumored foldable iPhone alongside the new iPhone 18 lineup, a refreshed Apple Watch and updated AirPods.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET). The invitation displays a glowing Apple logo on a light blue background with the tagline “Surprise and shine” underneath. As in previous years, the keynote will be held at Apple Park in Cupertino, California.
A foldable iPhone may finally arrive
Reports suggest Apple’s first foldable iPhone could debut at the event, though its final name remains uncertain. It has been referred to in leaks as the iPhone Fold, iPhone Ultra or iPhone Flip. Early details point to a book-style design, possibly in a passport size comparable to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8. Analysts estimate the device will be priced between EUR 1,714 and EUR 2,142.
What to expect from the iPhone 18
The iPhone 18 lineup is rumored to feature variable-aperture cameras, a smaller Dynamic Island at the top of the display and a larger battery. Higher starting prices are anticipated, following Apple’s earlier price increases this year on Macs, iPads, HomePods and the Apple TV.
There is also speculation that Apple could divide the iPhone 18 launch across two windows, introducing the Pro models in September and holding the standard model for early 2027.
New AirPods and Apple Watch on the way
Updated AirPods are widely expected to include built-in cameras, positioning them as an AI wearable. According to reports, the cameras would serve as visual sensors, giving Siri more context about a user’s surroundings.
Apple is also expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 12. Rumored improvements include a possible ceramic model, upgraded screen technology, software optimizations for better battery life and more efficient processors. No major design changes are anticipated, though the watch could add improved blood pressure monitoring and Touch ID.
