Samsung One UI 9 beta 6 is now rolling out to the Galaxy S26 series, arriving roughly a fortnight after the fifth beta build. The update weighs in at 851MB and brings the August 5, 2026 security patches to eligible handsets.
The sixth beta is currently available in Germany, India, Poland, the UK and Korea, with a wider release in the United States expected shortly. Once installed, participating devices will be running build ZZHE.
What the new beta fixes
The latest build addresses several issues reported during earlier testing phases. It resolves display errors affecting the Now Brief widget and the home screen, corrects photo-saving problems in Expert RAW 24MP at certain focal lengths, and fixes a fault with the camera widget.
These refinements continue Samsung’s steady progress towards a stable release of the software for its flagship line.
New Edge panel and AI Select controls
Beta 6 introduces a new “Touch and hold for AI select” toggle, found under Settings, Display, then Edge panels. When enabled, long-pressing the Edge panel peek window triggers the AI Select feature. When disabled, the long-press action does nothing, helping users avoid accidental activations.
Those who prefer to switch the toggle off can still assign AI Select as a shortcut within the Edge panel and launch it from there instead.
AI Select is Samsung’s new take on the Smart Select tool. It allows users to select any portion of the screen to extract editable text, create animated GIFs from playing videos, or send images directly into Generative Edit and Drawing Assist. In practice, it functions much like Samsung’s own version of Google’s Circle to Search.
The build is available now to members of the beta programme across the listed regions, with the United States rollout anticipated in the near future.
