The Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra are now official, expanding Xiaomi’s sub-brand flagship lineup with high refresh rate screens, the latest Qualcomm silicon, and large-capacity batteries. Both phones target buyers looking for premium performance without top-tier flagship pricing.
The Poco F9 Ultra runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The Poco F9 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series (SM8850-1-AB) chip paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Each model also includes a dedicated 12nm VisionBoost D8 graphics chip that manages AI frame insertion and super-resolution processing.
Displays and Design
Both phones use HyperRGB AMOLED panels running at a 185Hz refresh rate with peak brightness reaching 4,500 nits. The Poco F9 Pro has a 6.59-inch screen at 2510 x 1156 resolution, while the Poco F9 Ultra moves up to a 6.9-inch display at 2608 x 1200. Shared display features include 480Hz 10-point touch sampling, 4800Hz instant touch sampling, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and ultrasonic fingerprint sensors.
Both handsets carry IP68 dust and water resistance, NFC, and ship with Xiaomi HyperOS 3. Color options for the F9 Pro are Black, White, and Aurora Green, the latter with a glow-in-the-dark rear cover. The F9 Ultra comes in Black and Dark Cherry with a glass fiber finish and interactive lighting accents on the back.
Cameras, Audio, and Battery
Camera hardware has been overhauled on both devices. Each phone centers on a shared 200MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization and 4K video recording. The Poco F9 Pro adds a 50MP floating telephoto lens with 2.5x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. The Poco F9 Ultra upgrades to a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom plus a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. Both include a 32MP front camera.
Audio tuning was handled in partnership with Bose. The F9 Pro features symmetrical dual stereo speakers, while the F9 Ultra adds a 2.1-channel setup pairing dual stereo speakers with an independent 1620 rear subwoofer.
The F9 Pro carries a 6,330mAh battery, and the F9 Ultra houses a 8,050mAh silicon-carbon battery with a 16% silicon content ratio. Both share the same charging specs: 100W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, 27W wired reverse charging, and 22.5W wireless reverse charging.
