Apple Wallet driver’s license support is now available in Oklahoma, giving residents another way to carry their ID on iPhone and Apple Watch. Beginning today, Oklahomans can add their state-issued license directly to the Wallet app for quick mobile access.

The rollout makes Oklahoma the 16th state in the United States to support digital driver’s licenses in Apple Wallet. Apple first introduced the feature at WWDC in 2021, and adoption has expanded gradually across the country since then. The Oklahoma launch arrives just one week after the same capability went live in Virginia.

How to Add Your License to Apple Wallet

Setting up a digital license takes only a few steps. Open the Apple Wallet app and tap the plus icon in the upper-right corner. From there, scan the front and back of your physical license, then complete an identity verification step to finish the process.

Once added, the license lives on your iPhone and Apple Watch, ready for supported checkpoints and venues.

Where Digital Licenses Are Accepted

Apple Wallet licenses are currently accepted at TSA checkpoints at more than 250 airports across the country, along with select businesses and venues. Several additional states are actively working to bring the feature online, including Kentucky, Utah, Connecticut, Mississippi, and North Carolina.

Even if your state has not yet launched support, there is another option. Apple introduced a Digital ID feature last year powered by your US passport. This lets any eligible resident create a digital version of their passport to use at TSA checkpoints, regardless of which state they live in.

The steady state-by-state expansion means more Americans can now leave their physical wallet behind for certain travel and verification needs, relying instead on the iPhone or Apple Watch they already carry. With Oklahoma now on board and states like North Carolina and Utah in progress, the list of supported regions continues to grow.
