Apple TV has surged to the front of the 2026 Emmy Awards race, claiming a record 20 wins across the Creative Arts categories announced this weekend. The tally puts Apple ahead of major streaming rivals heading into the Primetime ceremony scheduled for September 14, when the marquee categories including Best Drama and Best Comedy will be handed out.

Much of Apple’s momentum comes from the breakout comedy Widows Bay, which secured 8 wins on its own and now appears positioned to sweep the top comedy prizes at next week’s telecast.

How the Streaming Standings Look

As the Creative Arts results stand, Apple leads with 20 wins, followed by HBO Max with 16 and Netflix with 13. Those rival totals are expected to climb once the Primetime Emmys are announced, likely pushing Apple into third place overall. Even so, the company is projected to dominate the comedy field, while dramas such as The Pitt are favored to take the top honors in that genre.

Across Apple TV titles, the studio earned 19 wins. The headline figure of 20 also includes a win for Apple’s “I’m Not Remarkable” commercial.

Which Apple TV Shows Won

Widows Bay accounted for eight of the wins, including Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy for Betty Gilpin, plus honors in production design, casting, cinematography, music composition, music supervision, sound editing, and sound mixing.

Pluribus collected four wins, spanning production design, picture editing for a drama, original main title theme music, and sound mixing. Margo’s Got Money Troubles took three awards in contemporary costumes, hairstyling, and makeup. Palm Royale also earned three, recognized for choreography, period costumes, and period or fantasy/sci-fi makeup. The documentary Mr. Scorsese won Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series.

A Strong Nomination Base

Apple TV entered the season with a record 89 Emmy nominations, underscoring the industry’s broad support for its slate of programming. The remaining categories will be decided during the Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony on September 14, when Apple will look to convert more of its nominations into wins.
