The Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokemon Sleep is here, giving American fans a wearable that pairs serious sleep tracking with the popular Pokemon Sleep game. Priced at EUR 111, the special-edition tracker is a collaboration between the Pokemon Company, Google, and Fitbit, and it is designed to make logging your nightly rest more engaging.
Pokemon Sleep first arrived in 2023 after being announced in 2019 and enduring several delays. It went on to become the most downloaded sleep game app worldwide. This new hardware release builds on that momentum, aiming to help users take their rest more seriously while keeping the experience playful.
The concept fits naturally together. The minimal design of the Fitbit Air is built for extended wear, including overnight sleep tracking, while Pokemon Sleep gamifies rest to encourage longer, more consistent sleep each night.
Design Details Aimed at Pokemon Fans
The special edition ships with a deep blue woven wristband, referred to as Sleepy Blue, and features a Pikachu etching above the adhesive strap. On the wrist, it feels much like the original Fitbit Air, which launched earlier in the year. That model was described as slim, lightweight, and comfortable during testing.
As with the standard version, you can pop out the pebble that houses the optical heart rate monitor, gyroscope, and other health sensors, then swap out the band. One caveat for existing Fitbit Air owners: Google confirmed that the new Pokemon band will not be sold separately.
The packaging includes several tasteful Easter eggs. Sleepy Pokemon such as Psyduck and Slowpoke appear on the reverse of the cover, and a Mew is hidden on the wristband holder.
How the Tracker Works With Pokemon Sleep
The special edition Fitbit Air syncs with both the Google Health app and the Pokemon Sleep app. During the day, you can track metrics like daily movement, heart rate, and cardio load. At night, it logs the duration and quality of your sleep more accurately than earlier methods.
Google says the Pokemon Sleep app will sync with the special edition Fitbit Air as well as all other Google and Fitbit wearables, including the Pixel Watch. That expands the options available for building up Drowsy Power, the in-game mechanic that determines how many wild Pokemon appear in your campsite and how rare their sleeping styles are.
Previously, players had to set a phone beside the pillow or wear the now-discontinued Pokemon Go Plus band to properly record sleep. The wearable integration removes that limitation.
The Fitbit Air Special Edition Pokemon Sleep in Sleepy Blue is available for preorder now online, at the Google Store, and at Target for EUR 111. That is EUR 26 more than the retail price of the standard Fitbit Air.
