Google Calculator is the latest app to receive a refreshed gradient icon, completing a wave of visual updates rolling out across Google and Pixel apps in 2026. The new design arrives via Version 9.3 of the app, which is now widely available through the Play Store.
What’s New in the Calculator Icon
The redesigned icon places the minus, multiplication, plus, and equals symbols inside rounded containers. The overall look mirrors the Quick Settings Tile icon that Google introduced years ago. The background has switched to white, matching the styling already seen on Google Clock.
Google chose green as the accent color for the update. The operator symbols use a darker shade of green, while the equals sign appears in a lighter tone. The reasoning behind the palette isn’t spelled out, though the previous gray and blue scheme loosely aligned with the Clock app.
Part of a Broader Icon Overhaul
While the new Calculator icon is not exclusive to Pixel phones, it debuted alongside the redesigns for Pixel Camera, Recorder, and Weather. The gradient treatment reflects a consistent visual direction Google has applied across several apps in recent weeks.
The full list of apps updated with the gradient design includes Google Calculator, Pixel Camera, Google Clock, Pixel Magnifier, My Pixel, Pixel Recorder, Pixel Thermometer, and Pixel Weather.
Availability
Version 9.3 of Google Calculator is rolling out now through the Play Store. Beyond the new icon, the update contains no other changes to the application. The rollout lands as Pixel Camera 11 remains an estimated few weeks away from reaching older phones.
