The Lenovo IdeaPad Vibe is a colorful new laptop built to challenge Apple’s affordable and hugely popular MacBook Neo, and on paper it makes a compelling case. Unveiled at Lenovo Innovation World ahead of IFA, the machine starts at EUR 603, matching the MacBook Neo’s price following Apple’s RAM-related increase.
Buyers can choose between a 14-inch or 15-inch OLED display. The Vibe measures 14.9mm thick and starts at 2.87 pounds. That makes it thicker and larger than Apple’s laptop, though only modestly heavier at its base weight. Lenovo will offer both plastic and metal versions.
Colors, design, and ports
Lenovo partnered with Pantone to deliver seven color options: Dreamy Violet, Spicy Gold, Zen Green, Chill Blue, Radiant Coral, Moody Blue, and Lowkey Grey. The keyboard adds interchangeable keycaps, letting owners customize the look with different color combinations.
Connectivity is a strong point. The IdeaPad Vibe includes two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, two USB-C ports, a headphone jack, and a microSD card reader. A 5MP webcam with a physical privacy cover is standard, while an optional keyboard backlight and an optional touchscreen on the 15-inch model are available.
Performance and configurations
Shoppers can select either an AMD Ryzen AI 400 chip or a Qualcomm Snapdragon X chip. The AMD model supports up to 32GB of RAM, which end users can upgrade, along with up to 1TB of storage across dual slots that are also upgradable. The Snapdragon version tops out at 24GB of RAM, and while its storage remains upgradable, the RAM is not. Lenovo says an Intel variant will arrive later.
The IdeaPad Vibe launches in two waves. AMD models ship in October, followed by Snapdragon models in November. Both start at EUR 603.
IdeaCentre AIO I joins the lineup
Alongside the laptop, Lenovo introduced the IdeaCentre AIO I, an all-in-one desktop offered with a 24-inch or 27-inch display and color options similar to the Vibe. Pricing starts at EUR 808, with availability beginning in November.
