Google AI Mode is gaining three new travel features designed to help you book flights, reserve hotels, and make sense of your points and miles directly within Search. The rollout arrives as millions of Americans prepare to travel, with AAA already reporting heavier traffic and higher costs for the Labor Day weekend.

Unlike earlier Google travel tools, such as using AI Mode to find items you forgot to pack or planning trips with Gemini and Google Maps, these new capabilities live directly inside AI Mode in Search. Here is how each one works.

Flight tracking and hotel booking

Google is bringing its airfare tracker into AI Mode. As you chat, you can describe when and where you want to fly, then receive a list of the best available options. From there, you can ask the AI to track airfare for those dates or times and set up email alerts if the price changes.

The same search-and-book flow now applies to hotels. You can research hotel options based on your location, dates, and preferences, which makes comparisons easier. When you are ready to reserve, you can book directly within AI Mode through Booking.com, Choice Hotels, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG, Marriott, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham. This feature is available now in the US in English, with a global expansion planned soon.

Understanding points and miles

Loyalty rewards can be confusing even for experienced travelers. With the new tools, you can now view the cost of flights and hotels with points or miles factored in.

Using AI Mode in Search, you can type a request such as “I want to fly from Seattle to Boston using AA miles. Help me find nonstop flights in late September” to see what those flights would cost when redeeming miles. The feature supports several airline and hotel rewards programs, including Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, with more programs to be added.

What travelers should know

The updates center on making trip planning faster inside a single interface, from comparing airfare and setting price alerts to completing a hotel reservation without leaving Search. The points and miles integration adds a practical layer for anyone trying to stretch loyalty balances across multiple carriers and hotel chains.

All three features are rolling out through AI Mode in Search, with the hotel booking capability currently limited to the US in English and additional rewards programs expected to follow.
