The Xbox 25th Anniversary Collection has arrived for pre-order, bringing a lineup of officially licensed peripherals wrapped in translucent “OG Green.” The set commemorates 25 years since the original Xbox launched on November 15, 2001, and revives the see-through aesthetic that defined the console and its Halo special editions, right down to the four-color face-button palette.
Notably, every product in the collection comes from a third-party partner rather than Microsoft itself. The assortment leans heavily toward PC and mobile play, featuring three Razer desktop peripherals, two phone controllers, an 8BitDo charging dock, and a PowerA bag designed to carry the Asus-built ROG Xbox Ally handhelds. Most items are scheduled to ship in late October, with the Razer gear dated for October 20.
Razer Leads the Lineup on Price and Performance
Razer contributes the most premium pieces in the collection. The Basilisk V3 Pro 35K mouse is priced at EUR 154, the BlackWidow V4 75% keyboard at EUR 180, and the Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed for Xbox earbuds at EUR 103. Each carries a EUR 17 premium over its standard counterpart.
The Basilisk pairs Razer’s Focus Pro 35K Optical Sensor Gen-2 with up to 140 hours of wireless battery life, while the BlackWidow ships with hot-swappable Orange Tactile Switches Gen-3. Both share the same internals as their non-anniversary versions. The keyboard also includes a dedicated Xbox key that launches the Windows Game Bar, mirroring the shortcut the ROG Xbox Ally assigns to its own Xbox button.
Rounding out the set, Backbone’s Pro controller sells for EUR 137 in a blind-box format that conceals which of three heritage colorways is inside. GameSir’s X5 Lite phone controller is listed at EUR 39, and 8BitDo’s Ultimate Charging Dock comes in at EUR 34.
A Collection Built Around the Modern Xbox Platform
The composition of the collection reflects how Xbox has evolved as a platform. Beyond the desktop peripherals, its other anchors are a carrying bag for the Windows 11 handheld and two clip-on controllers for phones. This shift follows Microsoft’s broader strategy, which included rolling out Xbox Mode to Windows 11 desktops and laptops in April, extending the ROG Xbox Ally’s full-screen interface across PCs, and beginning work on a next-generation console built on a custom AMD chip.
The only anniversary product Microsoft manufactures itself is the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition, announced June 7 at the Xbox Games Showcase and due in November alongside a matching Wireless Controller X25 sold separately. It reuses the standard Series X internals with 1TB of storage inside a translucent green shell. Pricing from Dealabs cited by TechPowerUp places it near EUR 770, roughly EUR 86 above the current 1TB Series X, though Microsoft has not yet confirmed an official price.</
