The RugOne XSnap 7 Pro is one of the more unusual Android phones unveiled at IFA 2026, pairing a rugged build with a detachable, GoPro-style action camera that owners can pop off and use to capture footage on the go.
First shown earlier this year, the device now has confirmed pricing and availability. It launches on Kickstarter next week and arrives in the US in October for EUR 860. European buyers will pay €1,099.
Rugged design and core specs
The phone comes from Ulephone, a brand established in the ruggedized smartphone space, with RugOne serving as a new sub-brand. As expected, it is a bulky handset, measuring 19.1mm thick and carrying IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H certifications. Its drop-resistant construction means no case is required.
Up front sits a 6.67-inch FHD+ display protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Inside, the XSnap 7 Pro runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chip with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, backed by a large 9,300 mAh battery. Photography options include a 50MP main sensor and a 64MP night vision camera.
The detachable action camera
The standout feature is the built-in action camera, which attaches to the phone magnetically. It offers a 133-degree field of view and records at 2.7K (1440p). On its own battery, it can capture up to 40 minutes of footage, and its 64GB of onboard storage holds roughly eight hours of recording.
A companion app lets the camera offload footage to the phone’s storage, while the phone can also recharge the camera. Through the app, users can stream from the camera at distances up to 50 meters. The action camera is waterproof to 5 meters without any additional equipment.
Software support
The XSnap 7 Pro ships with Android 16 and is promised updates through Android 20, offering a level of long-term support not always seen in rugged devices. The combination of a practical detachable camera, competitive specifications, and a defined update commitment sets it apart from many phones in this category.
The RugOne XSnap 7 Pro heads to Kickstarter next week ahead of its US release in October at EUR 860.
