Motorola is officially back in the Wear OS market, and its comeback device carries a fresh name. Instead of reviving the classic Moto 360 branding, the company is launching the Moto Watch Ultra, a full-featured smartwatch running Google’s latest software.
The Moto 360 remains one of the most recognizable Android smartwatches ever made, serving as the face of the early “Android Wear” era. Motorola stepped away after a couple of generations, briefly reviving the Moto 360 name in 2020 before that effort faded as well. A licensing arrangement tied to that name is likely the reason Motorola is not using it this time around.
In the years since, Motorola continued producing smartwatches, but those models ran on an RTOS platform focused primarily on health tracking and battery longevity. That approach came at the cost of robust notifications and access to a full app ecosystem, even as recent efforts mimicked the look of Wear OS.
Moto Watch Ultra Specifications and Pricing
Priced at EUR 300, the Moto Watch Ultra runs on a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It ships with Wear OS 6, and Motorola confirms that its Qira AI assistant is built in. Whether the company has made any custom changes to the interface remains to be seen.
The watch features a 1.5-inch pOLED display housed in a 46mm case measuring 12.1mm thick. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3, while the stainless steel body comes in a brushed silver or gunmetal finish. Buyers can choose from four included strap options in silicone and leather, and because the watch uses standard 22mm spring pins rather than proprietary connectors, any compatible band will work.
Additional features include NFC support for Google Wallet, IP68 and 5ATM dust and water resistance, and LTE connectivity. Motorola rates the 550 mAh battery for up to two days of use. For comparison, the 45mm Pixel Watch 5 carries a 465 mAh battery. Charging is managed through a magnetic dock that connects over USB-C.
Fitness Features and Availability
For fitness tracking, Motorola has partnered with Polar, a brand that previously exited the Wear OS space. The collaboration brings activity goals, scores, and intensity zones, along with inactivity alerts, energy source tracking, and wellness tools covering breathing and sleep.
The Moto Watch Ultra goes on sale unlocked on September 10 for EUR 300, with a Verizon launch following on September 24. Other carriers, including T-Mobile, Metro, and AT&T, will offer the watch at a later date.
Alongside the watch, Motorola is releasing a Swarovski edition of the base Razr (2026). This version shares identical specifications but adds a dark gray case with Crystals by Swarovski embedded in the back. It costs EUR 86 more at EUR 774 and also launches on September 10.
