Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live are now rolling out to users this week, bringing new voice-driven capabilities powered by Gemini across three core Google apps. First previewed at I/O 2026 and refined through months of testing, the three features are now generally available.

Talk to your inbox with Gmail Live

Gmail Live lets you have a natural, spoken conversation with your inbox to pull precise information, replacing manual searches and lengthy thread reading. Powered by Gemini, it allows follow-up questions without repeating context, and you can interrupt it at any point to switch topics without starting a new session.

The fullscreen interface displays a transcript alongside links to the source emails. To get started, tap the new Live icon in the Gmail search bar. Gmail Live is available with Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra on Android and iOS, in English worldwide.

Docs Live acts as a hands-free co-writer

Google describes Docs Live as a hands-free thought partner and co-writer designed to help you quickly produce a first draft for summaries, proposals, and more. Gemini can draw from information stored in your Gmail, Drive, and Chat, as well as the web.

Before generating the document, Docs Live presents a recap of the information it plans to use. You can request specific details or formatting adjustments as needed. In the Google Docs app, tapping the floating action button reveals a new Create with voice option to launch the experience. Docs Live is available with AI Pro and Ultra on Android and iOS.

Keep Live turns audio brain dumps into notes

Keep Live listens to audio brain dumps and processes them into notes and lists. Gemini understands your stream of consciousness, and Google Keep displays an inline preview of the generated content within seconds.

For instance, you can ask Keep to add ingredients for pesto pasta to your shopping list, and Gemini reflects that intent in the note. Multiple notes can be created in a single session, and you can use your voice to edit, such as checking off items. Keep Live also works with existing notes: if you already have a grocery list and mention needing bananas, Keep simply adds bananas to that list.

Keep Live is available on Android and requires AI Plus, Pro, or Ultra. All three features are coming soon to Google Workspace business customers.
