Sonos is expanding its lineup with two new premium devices and a software rebrand. The audio company today introduced the Sonos Ace Ultra headphones and the Sonos Beam Ultra soundbar, both available to pre-order now and shipping September 29. At the same time, Sonos renamed its software platform to Sonos 27.
The announcements mark an ambitious push for the company, which has worked to regain momentum following the troubled app redesign it rolled out in early 2024.
Sonos Ace Ultra headphones
The Sonos Ace Ultra retails for EUR 387 and comes in four finishes: Black, White, Agave, and Sand. The over-ear headphones feature a Sonos-designed driver aimed at deep, detailed sound, plus high-resolution wireless audio with ultra-low latency.
Noise cancellation gets a notable upgrade, with up to twice the Active Noise Cancellation of the original Sonos Ace. Battery life reaches up to 35 hours with ANC turned on. An Adaptive EQ automatically tunes audio based on fit and movement, while beamforming microphones isolate the wearer’s voice for clearer calls. Plush foam and an adjustable design round out the comfort-focused build.
Sonos Beam Ultra soundbar
The Sonos Beam Ultra is priced at EUR 603 and ships in Black and White. It delivers 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos with upward-firing drivers for a more immersive, three-dimensional soundstage, along with wider separation between audio channels.
AI-powered Speech Enhancement is designed to keep dialogue clear, and the low-profile design is meant to blend into a living room without dominating the space. Trueplay calibration tunes the output to match the room and setup.
Sonos 27 software
Alongside the hardware, Sonos rebranded its software platform as Sonos 27, which the company is rolling out with new features. Both the Ace Ultra headphones and Beam Ultra soundbar are available to pre-order now, with shipments beginning September 29.
