A newly leaked iPhone roadmap details Apple’s hardware plans stretching all the way through 2028, according to a report from analyst Mark Gurman. The overview arrives just ahead of Apple’s September 9 event, where the company is set to unveil its 2026 lineup. In total, more than 10 new iPhone models are reportedly in the pipeline across the next three years.

What’s Launching in 2026

Apple’s September 9 event is expected to headline the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Both models are said to include a mechanical aperture camera feature, new dark red and light blue color options, the A20 Pro chip, a C2 modem, and improved battery life.

The event will also introduce the iPhone Ultra, Apple’s first foldable model. According to the report, it will be roughly the size of a passport when folded and offered in light and dark finishes. The device will bring back Touch ID, feature an advanced hinge, and carry a price above EUR 1,722.

The 2027 Lineup and a Major Redesign

In 2027, Apple is reportedly shifting the base iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e to a springtime launch, moving the standard model out of the fall lineup. The iPhone Air 2 is expected to gain three notable upgrades: an Ultra Wide camera, a faster chip, and longer battery life.

The bigger story for 2027 is the Pro line. The iPhone Pro and Pro Max are said to arrive with a unique 20th anniversary design featuring curved glass around all corners and edges, along with thinner bezels. The report describes it as the biggest overhaul to the iPhone Pro line since the iPhone X. A second-generation foldable iPhone is also said to be well into testing, with a new chip being the only detail confirmed so far.

Looking Ahead to 2028

For 2028, the roadmap points to a third-generation foldable iPhone in development. This model is expected to feature a slightly larger display on both the front and inside compared with the 2026 and 2027 versions. No further details were shared about other 2028 models, though additional base and Pro versions are widely anticipated.
