iOS 27 introduces a fresh look for one of Apple’s most stable built-in apps. While the update expands features across Notes, Reminders, and other tools, the Apple Calendar app receives some of its most significant design changes in years.

Historically, Calendar has been slow to evolve. It rarely gained new capabilities at the pace of other Apple apps, and its interface remained largely unchanged even after last year’s Liquid Glass overhaul. That changes with iOS 27, which focuses its efforts on two central areas of the experience.

A Reworked Event Details View

Tapping on any calendar event now opens a revamped event details view. Information has been reorganized so that more details appear on screen at once, giving users a clearer picture without additional scrolling or tapping.

The addition of icons serves as a visual cue that makes the layout easier to scan and understand. Combined with a series of smaller refinements, these adjustments deliver a more modern overall feel to a screen that had gone largely untouched for years.

Updated Event Creation and Editing

Similar improvements arrive in the event creation and editing screens. As with the details view, more information now fits on screen, and everything has been reorganized and refreshed for a cleaner presentation.

Icons appear here as well, helping users quickly identify different fields. New headings organize event parameters into logical groups, making it easier to navigate when scheduling or adjusting an appointment. The result is a more structured workflow for a task that many people perform daily.

Systemwide Liquid Glass Enhancements

Beyond these two focused redesigns, Calendar also benefits from the broader Liquid Glass improvements introduced across iOS 27. These systemwide changes contribute to the app’s updated appearance and align it with the rest of the operating system.

Taken together, the reorganized layouts, new icons, clearer headings, and refined visual styling represent the most noteworthy design changes the Calendar app has seen in years. For an app long known for its consistency, iOS 27 marks a meaningful shift in both structure and presentation.

The updates apply to the core Calendar experience and arrive alongside feature additions in other stock apps included with the iOS 27 release.
