Apple has rolled out a fresh round of beta software for developers and testers, delivering beta 8 across several of its upcoming platforms. The latest builds arrive for iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, visionOS 27, and additional operating systems as the company inches closer to public release.
These updates are expected to be the final beta versions before Apple moves to release candidate (RC) builds, which are anticipated next Wednesday following the company’s September launch event.
What’s New in Beta 8
Rather than introducing new user-facing features, this round of betas focuses on bug fixes, performance improvements, and under-the-hood refinements. With the software nearly ready to ship, these builds represent close to the final version that will reach all users in the coming weeks.
Apple typically keeps certain features hidden in its major OS versions until the RC builds are released. That means additional capabilities could still surface before the public launch, even though they are not visible in the current beta.
watchOS 27 Features Still to Come
One example is watchOS 27, which may introduce new health features and watch faces that have not yet appeared in the beta cycle. These additions are likely to be revealed alongside new Apple Watch hardware expected at next week’s event.
Beyond those held-back features, today’s releases offer very little in the way of visible changes. The betas mainly serve to stabilize the software and address remaining issues before the wider rollout.
