Apple is preparing for its largest event of the year, scheduled for September 9, 2026. New CEO John Ternus recently teased a “huge launch,” and reporting points to a wave of new hardware spanning iPhones, Apple Watch models, AirPods, and possibly Home products. Here is a breakdown of the six major products expected to make their debut.
New iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods lead the lineup
Three flagship iPhone models are ready to be revealed. The lineup will be headlined by two Pro variants alongside a much-anticipated foldable device.
The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature the A20 Pro chip, significant camera improvements, fresh color options, and a smaller Dynamic Island. The iPhone 18 Pro Max should offer a larger, more efficient battery for what Apple aims to be its best battery life yet. Rounding out the group is the iPhone Ultra, described as Apple’s first foldable iPhone.
The Apple Watch is a September staple, and this year brings two new models with more powerful chips and expanded health capabilities. The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is set to introduce new health sensors and design refinements. The Apple Watch Series 12 is expected to include an upgraded S-class chip, an always-on heart monitor, and a ceramic option.
Completing the core group of six, AirPods 5 are also on the way. While earlier leaks suggested AirPods with cameras might arrive, Mark Gurman reports that product is now slated for 2027. AirPods 5 are expected in base and active noise cancellation variants, possibly with a new chip.
Apple Home products may round out the event
Beyond the reliable trio of iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods, several new Home products could appear. Chief among them is the long-awaited home hub with a display, reportedly called the HomePad or HomePod Touch, featuring a 7-inch touch screen.
A refreshed HomePod mini 2 is also expected, bringing a new chip, audio enhancements, and Siri AI. A new Apple TV 4K may join the group as well, with a more powerful chip, Siri AI, and an updated Siri Remote.
Products that could slip to October
Apple has additional hardware reportedly in development for the fall. Although October launches appear more likely, there is a chance the MacBook Ultra, M6 MacBook Pro, M6 iMac, or OLED iPad mini could make a surprise appearance. A new full-size HomePod remains a possibility as well.
Based on current reporting, new iPhones, Apple Watch models, AirPods 5, and potentially Home products are all expected during the September 9 event.
