The Xiaomi 17T Pro has claimed the EISA Smartphone award for 2026-2027, leading a line-up of honours that also recognised Honor, Oppo and Samsung. The awards are decided by votes from multiple EISA member publications, each of which tests products throughout the year using its own criteria, with at least five member titles reviewing every device before a winner is chosen.

EISA, the Expert Imaging and Sound Association, praised the Xiaomi 17T Pro for its camera system, display, flagship chipset and long-lasting battery. The combination of these elements secured the device its place at the top of the smartphone category.

Foldable, photo and AI honours

The Honor Magic V6 took the EISA Foldable Smartphone award, recognised for its class-leading battery capacity, IP ratings, displays and performance. The result places the device at the forefront of the foldable segment for the year ahead.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra won the EISA Photo & Video Smartphone award, with the association stating that it “raises the bar for smartphone photography with its uncompromising approach” through its “innovative camera system”. EISA described the handset as “a competitor to super-zoom cameras” and the best option for “photographers seeking the ultimate range, image quality, and creative freedom” in a smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra earned the EISA AI Smartphone award, cited for its “innovative” AI features such as Now Brief and Now Nudge, alongside the AI-driven Photo Assist suite that enables “scene-level editing through voice and text prompts”. The award also acknowledged the world’s first built-in Privacy Display and machine-learning privacy alerts. EISA called the device “a benchmark smartphone for proactive, secure, and context-aware AI”.

Samsung earns in-ear headphones recognition

Samsung took a second honour with the EISA In-Ear Headphones award for the Galaxy Buds4 Pro, described as “a well-rounded choice for everyday high-fidelity listening”. EISA praised their Enhanced Adaptive ANC and the AI-powered Adaptive Noise Control, “which constantly analyses your surroundings to optimize noise levels”.

The association also highlighted Siren Detect, “which instantly allows emergency alerts to penetrate the ANC for safety”, and noted that the Buds4 Pro deliver “exceptionally clear calls”. The recognition rounds off a strong showing for Samsung across two separate award categories in this year’s line-up.
