The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to debut at Apple’s launch event on September 9, and a fresh rumor is helping to sharpen the picture of the color lineup buyers can anticipate.
According to leaker Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo, the iPhone 18 Pro has entered full production and will arrive in three finishes: sky blue, pure black, and burgundy. Earlier rumors pointed to the same palette, though the naming has shifted along the way, with some reports referring to the darker red shade as dark cherry rather than burgundy.
Silver Could Sit This Year Out
Shoppers hoping for a silver or gray option may be disappointed. The latest report suggests Apple could skip that shade entirely for the Pro tier this year, opting instead to revive black after leaving it off the iPhone 17 Pro series. In the previous generation, black remained available on other models, including the iPhone Air, the standard iPhone 17, and the iPhone 17E.
With roughly a week left before Apple takes the stage, additional details about the design and finishes of the new Pro models are likely to keep surfacing.
Pricing May Climb Amid Memory Shortage
The bigger question for many buyers is cost. Apple has raised prices across parts of its lineup as an ongoing memory shortage pushes consumer electronics higher. The latest Mac Mini with an M6 processor now starts at EUR 776, a notable jump from the EUR 517 M4 Mac Mini it replaces.
That trend raises the possibility that the iPhone 18 Pro could carry a higher starting price than the EUR 948 iPhone 17 Pro. Whether Apple follows suit will become clear when the company reveals the new phones on September 9.
