Clucky is a newly launched iPhone alarm app aimed at habitual snoozers, and its standout feature is the option to be woken up by a crowing rooster. Once the alarm sounds, users must complete a task before they can silence it, making it harder to roll over and fall back asleep.

The app enters a growing category of challenge-based alarm tools that includes Alarmy and Awake. Rather than relying on willpower, these apps use small obstacles to force people fully awake. Clucky’s core strategy is to make dismissing an alarm irritating and ridiculous enough that users have little choice but to get out of bed.

Wake-Up Missions and Sound Options

For those who want a gentler start, Clucky includes conventional sounds such as soft chimes, peaceful birdsong, and the traditional digital beep. An Extra Loud Mode immediately raises the volume the moment the alarm triggers.

The app’s wake-up missions cover a wide range of activities. Users can solve math problems, memorize and tap tiles in the correct order, type out phrases the app dictates, shake the phone, walk a set distance, do push-ups, tilt a ball toward a goal, or complete an AI camera challenge. Each task is designed to keep the alarm running until the user proves they are awake.

Stats, Reports, and Group Accountability

Clucky also offers a detailed stats section that tracks the average number of seconds an alarm rings before a mission is finished, the total number of missions completed, and overall wake-up counts. A feature called the Rooster Report grades weekly wake-up performance so users can monitor their habits over time.

The app adds a social layer through private alarm groups called a Nest or Flock. These let friends or family members set the same wake-up time and hold one another accountable, turning a solo routine into a shared one.

Availability and Pricing

Clucky was founded by Adrian Angelo Abelarde, a former software engineer at Fanatics. The app is currently available to download from the App Store. It includes a pro subscription priced at EUR 34 per year.
