The Fender MIX wireless headphones now work with a dedicated iPhone app that lets listeners fine-tune their audio experience. Priced at EUR 257 and launched in August, the over-ear headphones already offered a replaceable battery and a USB-C wireless transmitter. The addition of the Fender Audio app brings more customization directly to the iPhone.
The app centers on sound personalization. It provides EQ presets alongside a custom five-band equalizer, with separate controls for low, low-mid, mid, high-mid, and high frequencies. That range of adjustments allows users to shape the sound to match their preferences without leaving the app.
Beyond audio tuning, the Fender Audio app includes a battery indicator and configurable Home Screen widgets. Those widgets offer quick access to device actions, including EQ settings, so listeners can make changes on the fly.
Inside the Fender MIX Headphones
The Fender MIX headphones feature 40mm graphene drivers, hybrid active noise cancellation, and Bluetooth 5.3. Fender rates battery life at up to 52 hours with ANC enabled, or up to 100 hours with ANC turned off.
The included FWD Tx USB-C transmitter supports separate modes for lossless audio at up to 24-bit/96kHz, low-latency listening, and Auracast broadcasting to multiple compatible devices. The transmitter tucks neatly behind an ear cushion when it is not in use. When convenience takes priority over audio specifications, standard Bluetooth listening works without the adapter.
Connectivity and Listening Options
Listeners are not limited to wireless playback. The MIX headphones support wired listening over USB-C or a 3.5mm audio cable, giving users flexibility depending on their setup and preferred audio source.
With active noise cancellation enabled, the headphones deliver strong performance. The transparency mode, which Fender calls Ambient Sound, can sound like a step down in audio quality over Bluetooth without the transmitter connected.
The Fender Audio app is available on the App Store now with support for the Fender MIX headphones. It combines EQ presets, a five-band equalizer, a battery indicator, and Home Screen widgets in a single package designed to expand what owners can do with the EUR 257 headphones.
