Plaud One is a new pair of AI-powered headphones that brings agentic note-taking to a familiar wearable format. The device comes from Plaud, one of the world’s largest AI note-taking companies, which is now embedding its software platform directly into earbuds. The company announced the product ahead of IFA 2026 in Berlin, where it will be shown in person for the first time.
At a glance, the earbuds look like any other pair. They feature a sleek, discreet design and ship in an off-white color. Open questions ahead of the hands-on demo include comfort, audio quality, and how well the AI performs in daily use.
How Plaud One Works
Plaud is best known for a slim, wallet-like device that attaches to the back of a phone, along with its wearable pins. Both act as hardware gateways to the company’s core offering: its agentic AI and software platform. The Plaud One headphones carry that same software built in.
The earbuds can capture and upload ongoing conversations nearby, as well as phone calls, using a built-in eSIM with 4G LTE. From there, Plaud’s software delivers automatic transcriptions of meetings and can turn them into summaries, follow-ups, or reports. The company’s agent also offers native integration with widely used tools, including Google, Gmail, Slack, and Notion.
Users should be aware that recording phone calls without consent from all participants can be illegal in some states, and informing others when a recording device is in use is advisable.
Two-Way Conversations With the AI
A key addition with Plaud One is support for a two-way dialog between the wearer and Plaud’s AI. Users can speak directly to the agent, asking questions or issuing instructions, something the company’s earlier devices did not allow. Activating the assistant requires saying “Hey Plaud” while wearing the earbuds or holding down the agent button on the case.
“AI agents become truly useful when they understand the context in which human intent is formed,” said Nathan Xu, CEO and co-founder of Plaud. “That context lives in conversation.”
Pricing and Availability
The Plaud One Explorer edition is available for preorder now, priced at EUR 267, and includes EUR 175 in Plaud credits. Plaud expects the device to begin shipping later in the fall.
