Most automatic pet feeders on the market are limited to dry food. The few wet-food options from other brands depend on refrigeration to keep preloaded meals cold, and they typically hold only two or three servings. The Rika stands out as the first feeder that mixes a cat’s meal in real time rather than storing it in advance.
How the Neakasa Rika Works
About the size of an average drip coffee maker, the Rika houses two key components: a compartment for freeze-dried food and a water reservoir. When activated, the unit rehydrates and blends the food to produce a fresh serving. Owners can trigger a meal manually or set a feeding schedule through the companion app.
The self-contained design holds enough food for seven days of meals, making it a practical option for busy or forgetful cat owners who prefer to feed their pets wet food. While the product is marketed for cats, the same system could reasonably work for small dogs, though it is not advertised for canine use.
Pricing and Availability
The Neakasa Rika retails for EUR 172 and is available through Neakasa’s website. The Shenzhen-based company is already known for its self-cleaning litter boxes and automatic feeders, but until now it had no product aimed at owners who feed their cats wet food rather than dry.
With the Rika, Neakasa fills that gap in its lineup, offering a freeze-dried-to-fresh feeding method that no competing feeder currently matches. The device holds a week’s worth of meals and prepares each serving on the spot at EUR 172.
