Narwal robot vacuums are getting a mopping upgrade across a wider range of models, the company announced with a new lineup unveiled at IFA Berlin 2026. Rather than reinventing its cleaning technology, Narwal is extending features from its flagship devices to more affordable units, with a clear focus on tackling dried-on stains.
The headline change is that FlowWash mopping, previously reserved for the flagship Flow series, is now reaching additional models including the Freo 20 and Freo 20 Edge. It’s a strategy seen throughout the robot vacuum industry, where premium features gradually trickle down to lower price points.
“For a decade, we’ve focused on making mopping truly effective in robotic cleaning,” said Junbin Zhang, Founder and CEO of Narwal, in a press statement. “The Flow 2 represents the pinnacle of that journey, and with this new lineup, we’re bringing the expertise behind it to more homes while expanding into new cleaning categories.”
How FlowWash Mopping Works
Narwal treats mopping as one of the toughest problems in the category, particularly when it comes to lifting old, dried stains. The FlowWash system continuously refreshes and cleans the mop roller during operation. Each model uses a flat microfiber roller mop the company says maintains more consistent floor contact for stain removal.
The setup relies on 16 angled water nozzles that refresh the mop with hot water while cleaning, along with an integrated scraper that removes dirt and wastewater. It applies 12 newtons of downward pressure. That figure sits below some competing robot vacuums shown at IFA, but it is intended to handle everyday cleaning on models priced more affordably.
Freo 20 and Freo 20 Edge
The Freo 20 pairs the mopping hardware with 31,000 pascals of suction power. Navigation is handled by dual RGB cameras and AI recognition capable of identifying more than 300 household objects. Narwal positions this model for larger living spaces and more complex home layouts.
The Freo 20 Edge drops the advanced AI object and clutter recognition, making it better suited to apartments and simpler environments. It still includes FlowWash, 31,000 pascals of suction, lidar, and structured light 3D navigation. A slim 9.5-centimeter body helps it reach under furniture, and it ships with a self-emptying and self-cleaning docking station, all features once limited to flagship machines.
Cordless and Wet Dry Options
Narwal is also expanding beyond robot vacuums. The Narwal V50 Cube is a new cordless vacuum with an auto-empty docking station. The dock is compact and lightweight, while the V50 Cube delivers 210 air watts of suction for pet hair and dirt.
On the wet and dry side, Narwal offers an Essential Model for daily cleaning and a Flagship Model with a fuller feature set. The flagship uses 400-degree-Celsius steam and 95-degree-Celsius hot-water mopping, again aimed at stain removal and sterilization. It provides 25,000 pascals of suction power, a floating scraper, and a sensor that detects dirt and adjusts suction based on floor conditions.
