Belkin has launched its first power banks built around semi-solid-state battery technology, joining a growing group of accessory makers exploring the format. The company says the new lineup is engineered to last up to three times longer than conventional power banks, thanks to a gel-like layer added alongside the liquid electrolyte found in standard lithium-ion cells.
Marketed as BoostSolid Cell technology, the design aims to lower the risk of overheating that can lead to swelling or fires, while delivering more consistent output across a wider temperature range. The tradeoff is a higher price than power banks with comparable specifications, though Belkin positions the longer functional lifespan as justification for the premium.
UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K
The smaller and more affordable model, the UltraCharge Pro Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K Qi2 15W with BoostSolid Cell, sells for EUR 60. Belkin says it is 40 percent slimmer than other 5,000mAh power banks and attaches magnetically to the back of compatible phones to wirelessly deliver up to 15W. A USB-C port can charge other devices at up to 22.5W, but charging two devices at once cuts wireless output to 5W and USB-C output to 12W.
UltraCharge Pro 10K With Display
Stepping up, the UltraCharge Pro Power Bank 10K 60W with BoostSolid Cell and Display doubles capacity to 10,000mAh for an additional EUR 17, priced at EUR 78. It remains slimmer than rival packs with similar capacity due to the higher energy density of the semi-solid-state cells. Output tops out at 60W when powering a single device over USB-C, dropping when as many as three devices are connected through two USB-C ports and one USB-A port.
Following a trend of adding screens to batteries, the 10K model includes a display that shows charge level, power output, and internal temperature. Both power banks are now part of Belkin’s expanded charging lineup for 2026.
