Milo Yiannopoulos, the alt-right commentator and former Breitbart editor, has been deported to the United Kingdom following his arrest by ICE. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the removal, which comes after federal authorities detained the British national earlier in the week.
Yiannopoulos entered the United States legally in 2019 but subsequently overstayed his visa. His immigration troubles escalated after he failed to appear in court for a scheduled hearing. As a result, a final order of removal was issued on July 22, clearing the way for his eventual deportation back to the UK.

A British citizen, Yiannopoulos rose to prominence as an editor at Breitbart, the outlet formerly run by Steve Bannon, and as an early backer of Donald Trump. Over the years he became known for a series of controversial statements and associations that repeatedly placed him at the center of political and cultural disputes.
He reportedly played a role in arranging Trump’s dinner with Kanye West and white nationalist Nick Fuentes. He was also a central figure in Gamergate, the online harassment campaign that targeted women in the tech and gaming industries.
Falling Out With the Right
Despite his earlier influence, Yiannopoulos has more recently fallen out of favor with many prominent figures on the political right, including MAGA-aligned influencer Laura Loomer. His public conduct and remarks contributed to that estrangement.
Yiannopoulos has denied condoning statutory rape or pedophilia. However, he has publicly suggested that it can be acceptable for an adult to have a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old, comments that drew widespread condemnation.
The deportation marks a significant turn for a figure who spent years building a platform in American media and conservative circles. With the final order of removal now enforced, Yiannopoulos returns to the country of his citizenship after roughly six years in the United States.
