Saber Interactive has denied claims that it replaced human writers with ChatGPT during the development of the Rideshare “Stimulator” game, which was announced last month and is being developed by Unigine.
The dispute began after a former lead writer publicly alleged that the studio had swapped their work for an AI system partway through the project. In response, Saber chief executive Matthew Karch stated that neither Saber nor Unigine had replaced any writers with AI on the title.
What The Former Writer Says
Stella Sacco, who identifies as the lead writer on the project, offered a different account. Posting on Bluesky, Sacco said she had worked as lead writer on the game and claimed that Saber had replaced her with ChatGPT midway through development. Sacco also said that all of the passenger voices in the game were generated using AI.
Sacco suggested two possibilities to explain the discrepancy, stating that the studio may have changed direction at some point during production, or that it was not disclosing the use of AI on the game’s Steam page.
